Temecula Valley Community Events:

Temecula Valley Community Events is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating events that promote small business owners throughout the SW Riverside County area. Our mission is to raise and develop scholarship funds for students electing to enter the trades industry. By organizing community events, we aim to support financial resources for classes, books, and transportation, lessening the burden for students entering trade schools.

 

 

Our scholarship program offers (6) $500 essay-based scholarships that can be used at most community colleges in the California system, as well as eligible career colleges, technical schools, and independent institutions. It is open to high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or trade school within four months of graduating from high school with a specific focus in the trades industry.  Applicants will be considered only for trade school career path institutions. The scholarship application process opens in January 2025. Students with family connections to the trades industry are encouraged to apply for this award, which is administered by Temecula Valley Community Events. Funds will be paid from receipts, which document the training,

Rules:

All applications are due by March 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • At least seventeen (17) years of age;
    • Have residency in Riverside County
    • Admitted to or enrolled in a trade school that is formally recognized.
    • Be a student in good standing at their currently enrolled school with a cumulative GPA of 2.6 or better.

Instructions:

Submissions must include the following by March 30 at 11:59 p.m.:

  • The Family Fun Fest / Riverside County Fair Scholarship Application
  • A 500-word essay on “The importance of the Trades Industry and what it means for them.”
  • Unofficial high school transcripts showcasing an unweighted cumulative GPA; official transcripts are required before the scholarship award
  • A school identification card
  • Submission to an accredited trade school program.
  • Availability for a Zoom interview to review application.

Finalists will be selected based on the required documents and essays (note: AI-generated essays are prohibited and will be verified). Scholarship awards will be determined through a Zoom interview with a judging panel, focusing on the essay, academic records, aspirations, and knowledge about the trades industry.
